  • What a musical tour de force!

I’d never heard of them before, and I stumbled upon them accidentally. I’m hooked. What great music, from old country, to rockabilly, to jazzy to whatever! Highly recommended. I can’t wait to see them in concert for their new MONO album.
  • Great Collection – no notes?

This record is fantastic. I’m a relatively recent convert to country music, so I’ve had a lot of catching up to do, and this record is my first experience listening to The Mavericks. A lot of it feels like it could sit right along side Dwight Yoakam records. The iTunes Album Review above mentions “great notes by Rich Kienzle” but there is no digital booklet available that I can see. Sure would be nice to have, iTunes and UMG.

Saw their concert aired on AXS TV and immediately looked up their music based in one song, "Dance in the Moonlight." I ended up buying two of their albums, this one and IN TIME. The band in great, and the lead vocal singer has a beautiful, strong, rich voice, very reminiscent of Roy Orbison. Highly recommend!
  • What happened to you Kenny?

This is crap. This isn't country music. This is terrible. Please go back to the style that made you famous. And I'm not talking about beach music either. "Good Stuff", "How Forever Feels", "Back Where I Come From". That's the Kenny I miss. I'm not a fan of this garbage.

This has got to be up there with the angels, no kidding. Vince Gill should listen to this..or maybe Patsy Cline. Can't believe that the 'great' iTunes didn't mention this song. Just gut-wrenchingly beautiful. Long live Raul.!

It's hard not to rap your fingers or tap your toes listening to a track like 'Rancho Grande' and if you haven't danced cheek to cheek with your significant other in a while, I highly recommend putting on 'O What a Thrill'. There is a consistent tone to the songs here; the themes of love lost or lonliness are presented with a good-natured shrug of the shoulders and not an overly morose feel. All in all, a fun album with a good country flair.

This album is one that you will listen to forever! It is simply one of the best!
  • Why aren't they a super group of some kind?

Wow, I hear a bit of Roy Orbison, Ronnie Milsap, Lyle Lovett, Moe Bandy, Merle Haggard, Rascal Flats, only better. This group had it all: fun, catchy, original, fresh, danceable, honky tonk'n, polished--all without being too slick and over produced. Fun, the way music is meant to be. Songs that make you tap, tap, tap. Songs that bring back the memories of a love lost, but without depressing you to suicide. Great stuff!!!!
  • What a voice!

I hear Raul Malo sing 'Blue Moon' and it makes me want to have his babies! He can sing the phone book to me, I'll buy it.
