May not be essential, but get one song!
Okay, totally unneccessary, but "You Still Believe In Me" works very well with the orchestra. Download that one at least.
Those calling Brian a sellout you should chill. The originals weren’t altered and you can still listen to the favorites anytime you want! If you don’t like these remakes, move on! I don’t like everyone of these but in my room I think is great! It sounds better with that fill in from the orchestra, gave it a nice warm sound. This isn’t selling out or horrible, just an alternate thing The Beach Boys tried out.
It really grows on you!

I realize this is not a replacement for the originals and should not be expected to be. At first listen I thought it added an "elevator music" feel to the songs. After a few more plays I realized that on most of the songs it really added a new layer that made the song sound fuller. Especially on Disney Girls- it completely transformed it! It reminded me of the Moody Blues using an orchestra at some live performances to enhance the sound. Think of it as a cover of the original, with original vocals (sounding especially good), and a bigger "wall of sound" to fill out the entire effect. A very worthwile addition to a Beach Boys collection.
The Beach Boys And Company

What a Great and fresh look at the Beach Boys music. Even Brian, Al, Mike and Bruce love it! What better recommendation than that?
Remixed in stereo!
By Ben Kleschinsky
Beach Boys all the way up to '68 released their albums to be heard in mono, and stereo was an after thought released by the record companies. Beatles have already been remixed and remastered in stereo, but for the first time you can hear these classic songs reimagined. In every box set and release so far, I was always bothered by the stereo singles.
This just just goes to show you how good the Beach Boys can sound when properly remixed for modern stereo systems. Amazing clarity, not just for the added orchestra but the fidelity of these recordings are just phenomenal which sounds like they went back to the multitracks. Yes, Brian Wilson and Al Jardine worked on this release.
Royal Philharmonic orchestra are also incredible, but it would be interesting to hear these remixes without the new orchestral sections. Starting in 2017 with the newly remixed "Wild Honey" album originally released in '68, we are starting to see the record company pulling these old tapes out of the closet to get a much needed restoration this iconic band deserves.
Don't people appreciate real music?
There's so much junk music out there today. It's truly refreshing to have a collection by one of the great rock vocal groups of all time with a symphony orchestra, and not just any symphony, but the Roayl Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the world's finest orchestras. Many of the songs make sense with an orchestra, like The Warmth of the Sun. Well done!
I love it!
The songs now sound even fuller and colorful!
I hope they do a second one!
I love both your original version and this new version!
"I say, totally unnecessary, eh, what?"

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is a brilliant musical assemblage. Their work is superb...normally. This time they've gone off the tracks. The Beach Boys arrangements are beyond excellent, and always have been thanks to their genius. What was supposed to be an homage to them, turned out to be an insult to Brian Wilson and the Boys. The orchestral intros feel out of place and force and then, the Beach Boys tunes as they were recorded are dropped in. Just get the original Beach Boys and enjoy them without the need for extra whip cream.
Another Mike Love...
money making move. If you read any books about The Beach Boys, you will know about the relentless repackaging of their catalog and selling as something new. Always with some minor twist or new combination of songs. I LOVE The Beach Boys and I hate to see this.

A BB fan for decades, this is a welcome new sound. Orchestral accompaniment is lush and beautiful. Awaiting a second album - after all, no SURFER GIRL?
