  • Loved U2, but...

...this album is horrendously bad. They need to completely revamp their direction, approach, manager, producer. God, Bono right some decent lyrics. You are lost and nowhere to be found. Edge is AWOL. Plays great live but guitar work on record is liked tailored nothingness. Stop trying to write radio songs and anthems. That part of your career is OVER, LONG GONE. concentrate on making good music. Period.
  • One of their greatest! Do yourself a favor and buy it!

This album could not have come at a better time. This album is what rock is all about- inspiring change for the world, challenging politics, promoting love, and talking about relationships and what life is all about. These guys are the biggest in rock-no- in music! They use their fame for good and do more for the world on the side (even while touring) than most anyone else in the world. Check out the recent interview with Bono in Rolling Stone. Some called it, "Heartbrakingly honest." I would tend to agree with that. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy for you and some for all your friends!

Bloated and tired - the band, their politics, their music. I'll go dig up the old stuff and reminisce about better times.

U2, please stop. Nobody cares. Just count your money and have fun. Music is in the past for you. If Bono needs to run his mouth incessantly, send him out on a fund raising tour for a charity.
  • I Enjoy This Collection of Songs Very Much

After spending a week with this, I have to say that I have a much higher opinion of it than I do of their last two albums. My favorite songs congregate in the middle of the album, and there are some essential tracks that I will enjoy for years to come. The songs seem simple for as layered as U2 used to get, but they still convey bursts of joy, punches of raucousness, and notes of tenderness that makes me glad I purchased this new batch of U2.
